Recently, I’ve been thinking about the approach as to how to present my portfolio and past project work from the past. A lot of my work not only resides in web design and development, but also in social media, SEO, and computer information systems. Sometimes, it’s a bit challenging to convey all of these topics in one convenient and consistent manner. One thing I do enjoy doing, as many people in real life know firsthand, is discussing what I am currently up to when it comes to projects and work. I also make the habit of blogging about it, too, whenever I can.
What I’ve decided to do instead of making a fancy image loader in Flash or jQuery that measures my websites (but doesn’t highlight the aforementioned areas of my expertise) is simply refer to the points on my site where i’ve blogged about them, which I have already created called Projects. While it’s not fully up to date, it does still highlight a lot of my work throughout the years. From now on, the Portfolio tab in my navigation will point to this category… at least until I think of something a little more clever.
Do any of you have any thoughts in regards to this topic? How would you tackle this problem? Any input is welcome and I’m open to ideas. I’d be more than happy to divide the portfolio based on project type, too, to tailor for each area’s needs, and to keep things as easy for visitors as possible. I’ve considered putting something together with SlideShowPro from a suggestion that Adam over at Web Movement, LLC provided, which would work for photos and websites, but what about everything else? Keep me posted, folks.
Drop me a comment on here with your ideas.
Until then, see you all on the flipside!
Hello All!
The latest blog post for Web Movement, LLC is currently up! In this week’s post, I evaluated 10 common search engine optimization (SEO) misconceptions and set the facts straight! There are still plenty of misnomers that still get thrown around when it comes to SEO, especially for people just starting out or running their own campaign without an expert. Some of the topics for discussion include:
These are certainly great topics for the SEO novice to get a good start on what constitutes good practice with basic concepts. I intend on writing at least one follow up to this post, so check back for more!

Things have been going crazy on my end the past few weeks with deadlines approaching at my day job, school starting in about… oh snap! My first class is in about 8 hours!
Anyway, I wanted to talk about one of the current projects that I am working on in conjunction with Web Movement, LLC. It’s one of my first SEO and Social Media consulting projects that I’ve landed since my departure from Planet Label, and am really excited to take what I’ve learned while employed there and crafting a model for an entirely different business and business model.
The current project involves the company Lift Girl Pilates, an online fitness site where visitors can subscribe for streaming fitness videos on demand. Overall, I find their model to be very promising, as video content is shifting towards on demand and on a per need basis (i.e. services like Netflix and Hulu). The current rates are
Currently, there are about 8 or 9 videos on the site with a new one added every week (typically on Mondays). With the increasing amount of content every week, $15.00 seems like a pretty good deal, roughly 50 cents a day, really. If you aren’t completely sold on the idea, the company does offer previews of each of their videos, which are currently available for viewing.
I just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who took the time to view my post yesterday titled 10 Retro and Vintage Themed Fonts for Your Next Project, which is a basic roundup of some fonts I really liked that shared a common theme. It was the first roundup I put that I featured on my site and the first one I’ve ever put together, and I must say, the results were spectacular!
Your support enabled me to achieve over 1,300 views on my site for the day (1,353 to be exact). Below is a screen cap of my WordPress.com Stats for yesterday.
Again, thank all of you for taking the time to read through the post. It really means a lot to me!
